The Deadline Club Annual Election and Holiday Party

Celebrate the holidays and toast the New Year with the Deadline Club on Monday, December 21, 7 to 8 p.m. via Zoom. Members will vote on a stellar slate of candidates for the 2021 Deadline Club Board of Governors. See the candidates HERE.
The vote will take place following a brief greeting by President Claire Regan, who will continue to serve as chairperson of the Deadline Club’s executive council and as national SPJ at-large director. We will thank Claire for her exceptional leadership during three of the club’s most successful years. Have your favorite wine or cocktail at the ready for toasting a new year and a new board.
Special guest Darron Foy, the head bartender at The Flatiron Room, will create a unique holiday cocktail for the occasion—then attendees will be randomly assigned into teams to come up with a great name for the libation (bonus points for a journalism-themed moniker). The winning team will win a fun prize (also journalism-themed).
If you would like to mix this special cocktail along with Darron, here are the cocktail ingredients:
2 oz bourbon (Darron will use Old Forester Bourbon 86 Proof)
.25 oz lemon juice
1 heaped teaspoon of demerara sugar
4 dash of angostura bitters
1 pinch of ground nutmeg
1 pinch of ground cinnamon
Zest of orange peel.
Splash of water.
Garnish is frosted orange peel (Darron will show how to make, real easy)
