Leveraging Google Tools for Election Coverage in Unprecedented Times
October 29, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
FreeAre you relying on pre-filtered public opinion polling to gather data on the election and want to learn about other data sources? Do you need to make quick references to past election coverage? How have you used social media as a tool to follow trending political topics? With Google Tools, you can find all of this information and more for free for the most up-to-date picture of the election, from the latest research down to data on what, exactly, the public is typing into the search bar.
On October 29, 2020, at 7 p.m. EST, join the Deadline Club for a 45-minute workshop that will teach print journalists to use Google Tools to their advantage for accurate and efficient election coverage — and diverse uses throughout the year. Learn how to work smarter (not harder) to find the information you need on the first page instead of spending your limited hours researching dead ends.
The session will be taught by Founding Google News Initiative Trainer Vix Reitano. She is the founder of Agency 6B, a boutique, full-service advertising agency based in Hoboken, New Jersey, serving clients worldwide. Trained as a journalist at Quinnipiac University, Reitano also served as a local editor at Patch.com, and as a digital producer at ABC, NBC and Telepictures before starting her company in 2015. Through her years of experience in both journalism and marketing, she is an expert in all things content, omnichannel branding, advertising and ethical content creation. The moderator is Deadline Club Events Chair Jessica Seigel, adjunct professor at the New York University Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute.
